Baby

Just after his birth your baby needs your support for his stability. Whether born naturally or through caesarian section, a newborn feels bewildered when he tries to cope with his new environment. His new circumstances therefore confound him in the first few weeks. You both struggle to adjust to each other and all the others try their best to bring about some semblance of order. If you hold on to your wits and follow the given tips things will work out fine.

Talk to your newborn to soothe him. Being able to identify with the tone of your voice, he finds it easy to accept things around him. Try to capture his attention by talking to him or singing to him as much as you can.

Draw the attention of your infant towards you by looking directly at him as you speak. Your newborn will reciprocate to your method of communication if you are handling and talking to him in the right way.

Realize the immense power of physical contact. Take lessons on infant massage techniques and implement the same on your newborn on a regular basis. It is a proven fact that massage is beneficial in many ways.

Research has proved that the well being of the baby increases in the close proximity of his mother. This keeps him happy. When your baby nestles in your arms, the warmth comforts him. A baby sling is a useful thing as you get to be in constant physical contact with your baby whereas your hands are free to complete a few chores around the house.

So attend to him immediately. Don’t resort to tears and waste time. Pick him up, cuddle him, and try to figure out just what it is he needs. Gradually you will be able to recognize his cry for hunger, cry of pain etc.

Do not think you are spoiling him. It will help to create a strong bond between you and make him feel secure. New moms need to get used to their babies first for a perfect rapport. Express your love for your newborn by pampering all his senses.
